The line, "You're full of s--t too, Guerra, that was a fist that hit you" is a reference to a fight Eminem had with John Guerra, who he saw kissing his wife outside a Detroit area bar in June of 2000. Police said Eminem hit Guerra with a gun, and Guerra received a settlement of $100,000.

    • @kellygrn72

I never get that line. I’m a huge Stan but Em sings in soldier “pistol whipping mother fuckin bouncer 6’2” and on the diss to Everlast, “Quitter” he says “I’m a pale faced killer whale, on his way to fuckin pistol whipping tail? “Or whatever the exact words are lol So why does he say that line? Always has been a line that doesn’t make sense to me.

Sampled from Aerosmith’s “Dream On” - if you haven’t listened to that one yet, you should do it. Steven Tyler wrote his incredibly mature and philosophical lyrics when he was still a teenager, several years before Aerosmith was even a band.

One of the most brutally honest 3rd verse of the "Rap genre" ever recorded.

  • @herrzimm
    @herrzimm 2 года назад +66

This is one of Em's best tracks ever recorded for 3 simple reasons.
    1) It basically tells you WHY every musical artist sings or plays an instrument. Because they are telling their stories, expressing their emotions, and getting through their issues the best way that they can, through their outlet of singing or playing an instrument.
    2) If you were NOT a fan of Em, he is telling you his history and how it is being used against him by the media and authority figures because they can't tolerate the fact that he has the appeal to reach so many people. And why they do everything they can to tear him down, or try to silence him.
    3) If you WERE a fan of Em, you can tell how each of the moments he was talking about were the TRUTH that the media and authority figures tried to keep you from knowing about in order TO CONTROL what you were SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE. That they were telling you to DENY WHAT YOU KNEW TO BE TRUE in order to destroy the person TELLING YOU THE TRUTH as they experienced it.

Real talk, this is one of them early songs in my upbringing that kept me on the straight and narrow. Eminem was a huge influence in my life growing up and his music helped me cope with all the bs I was dealing with. I remember hearing this song and feeling so overwhelmed with the message and while I don’t worship him (he’s repeated told us not to) I do respect and admire the hell outta him. My childhood was tough, very tough, and knowing he made it out of him and persevered, sheet, I can do anything. Em fan for life man, for real 💜

One of his BEST! The first time I'd seen Em live & he dedicated 'Sing For The Moment' to David Smith - one of his young Irish fans who died the night before from cancer - Eminem had given him tickets for the show 💔 may he R.I.P. Em got choked up but got massive respect from the Irish crowd. 'Oxegen Festival' 2010, in Ireland UNBELIEVABLE!🔥
I've seen him 3 times - Oxegen, Tenants Vital (NI) and also at Slane Castle Ireland. He is one of the best live artists I've seen - OUTSTANDING! Peace to all the 'Stans' - from Ireland 💚

The money from the ticket sales was sent to a few food banks around Detroit and River Rouge (where I grew up, it's a sister city to Detroit).

🔥🔥 reaction. One thing I’ve noticed about Eminem that is different from most any artist is that he has the most devoted fan base. People make fun of the Stan’s for being crazy, but they have been ride or die since they discovered his music and had it speak to them. The people who don’t know just hear the profanity and decide that he is trash or overrated etc. But when you really start listening and going through his albums, it can actually change your life. I think he helps people find the balls to be themselves, no matter who they are, and give the finger to anyone who doesn’t like it. The more people listen, the more they learn to love themselves and to be brave and take chances. It’s crazy but true. When I’m going through a tough time or difficult challenge in my life, I start listening all over again and always find something new to take away.

there's is many incredible messages in this song, I love Em's confidence in his message as he speaks in defense of hiphop with his entrance in the game went from more isolated audiences to worldwide/no matter the skin color it's like Em telling the world it's okay, and here's why. but back to his confidence in the message he says "maybe they'll get it when we're gone, may our spirit live on in our lyrics that you hear in our songs" even if no one got it, even if he died before they got it, they would understand one day because he put his message out there in his songs.

I'm from Ireland and I'm 21 years older than you. I'm enjoying your reactions to Eminem as iv been a Stan from day one! I would love u to react to medical man with Dre or cloraceptic remixes. when ever u can one day, go through music to be murdered by side a and b and see how more technical he has become. Keep the great work going. Much respect from my country in Ireland.

Every Stan hits a point in their life when they realize that they are walking without shoes...a Stan's shoes just happens to be Em's parental advisory sticker lol. It's like his seal of authenticity. To make sure you are getting the pure, uncut, full bodied Eminem experience...please, use your headphones. LOL

Em talking about other people doing stuff he has said is a reoccurring theme.
"But what's this shit you said about you like to cut your wrists too?
I say that shit just clownin', dawg, come on, how fucked up is you?"
    Who woulda thought
Slim Shady would be somethin' that you woulda bought
That woulda made you get a gun and shoot at a cop
    I just said it
I ain't know if you'd do it or not

This is my favorite song from Eminem. And the sample is from my favorite song of Aerosmith - Dream On. Just listen to it, you won't regret it

It's not really focused only on his music but to all the rappers and artists out there who give inspiration to the kids out there.

I’m sorry to say this, but Eminem has been the GOAT since he came out in the 90’s. I was one of the kids who’s parents wouldn’t let me buy his album

This song played over and over again in my CD player/Walkman as a youth. I was also rocking blue bandanas under my beanie while living under my step dads roof when my pops left at 10. My best friend was T from Compton and he helped me be street tough. My Mom also wouldn’t let me get my ears pierced so I pierced them anyways. Eminem was everything to me back then.
Then came 50 cent, Game, Kanye
Wayne and Kanye carried me though after Eminem. Then Drake has ruled supreme ever since.
